The Commission

The first stage is finished and the jars are an official pair. Now begins the difficult bit! Maybe you can work out how big they are form the banding wheels they are standing on; of course there is the 12 ⅔ shrinkage to consider too. I have two more lids to make tomorrow so I have one in reserve.

Below the last of the leaves hang onto the poplar trees in the valley, and still no snow on the mountains

Your pots look great, do you wait tilll they are a certain amount dried before you apply the slip or do they have to be soft to apply it?

Beautiful shot of the valley with the popular trees with just the leaves as the top left, kind of amazing they loose their leaves that way.

The jars are now white with slip, they tend to be at the right dryness straight after the scraping and smoothing stage, I am keeping them bagged when not at work on them and hope that the whole process isn't going to take too long.
I am gong with shells for the decoration to be in keeping with the table. I am trying not to think too much about the tables though as they are freaking me out a bit they are so beautiful and the house is so grand!
