A roundish ray in a square dish, carved into slip that was applied in the following order: Black (three coats) white (three coats) copper oxide mixed into white (three coats) black (two coats). When carving back the harder I press the deeper I go and the more colours I reveal. I think it should be an interesting result but at the moment this is it at the raw stage so the copper is not revealed in its true glory.
I am force drying it now in the lounge for a firing very soon. But hang on; is Seville playing football sometime soon? Because if they are then I will have to fit in round that as there won’t be enough electricity to go round, with all the televisions on in the village!

I love the eye brows!
Your work is jaw droppingly exquisite and unique.
Gosh you are so kind Sue, thank you. I am freezing my hands off here at the moment working on the second jar of the commission. Breaking all the rules with my lap top in the workshop.
You are amazing, the ray fish reminds me he art works of native artists from Alaska, reallybeautiful!!!
wow, another beautiful ray, what a lot of layers, so beautiful and can't wait to see about the copper. I am intrigued with your slip and layers and addition of copper as I have been in the past with your work.
I wish I was able to be an apprentice with you, I seem to start over each time I take up the slip. Of course I have moved from cone 10 to cone 5/6 and the white clay I am using is different too. Not as white which is what I was hoping for this time.
What beautiful work you have.
