These are gorgeous! I love this series and the whimsical nature of the birds. I can't even pick out my favorite. The final glazing is very nice - not too shiny and not too flat. Did you use glossy transparent or matte finish?
Thanks Sue, I went for the gloss in the end, I did a test with the satin, it was nice but it would have muted the colours on these. I am in a sort of after shock with this lot and need to get back in there and do some more.
somehow my comment from this afternoon didn't reach you, but I must write again to say OMG!! they are so beautiful those birds, their colors, their shape and the story behind each of them, only by looking at them one knows they are really special birds. the colors are so beautiful, are you mixing the engobes yourself?
In the end I make pots. I live some of the time in a rural village just 28k south of the city of Granada where my studio is and if you read this blog you will soon discover that I spend a great deal of time in England too, where my work sells.
I am obsessed by my medium; I work along personal lines of creativity where it is usually the mistakes which turn out to be the best pieces. I am exceptionally slow at thinking and I am prone to be influenced by everything and everyone around me.I don’t own any of my own work except “My Little Pony”; a vase that didn’t sell in 2007 {archive pot no 1 below} and which later became too difficult to part with.
