A bit of pure slipware for today, this very small bowl is entirely slip-trailed and jeweled in white under a transparent glaze. The moth is the Mervielle du Jour.
Your work is so beautiful. I'm not a potterer (just love the stuff) so don't have the words...but your work has an elegant depth that blends light and color. Lovely! I've spent the last 15 minutes scrolling through your previous posts, each photo a treasure.
Thank you Kittie, I have not been ultra productive of late in the workshop because I am working on two big pieces but it is nice to put out a little one now and then and I do so love moths.
I am thinking of doing this [moths] on the big jar with the wings below and building out the moths from the surface. Big job though, about a month of painting and modeling.
In the end I make pots. I live some of the time in a rural village just 28k south of the city of Granada where my studio is and if you read this blog you will soon discover that I spend a great deal of time in England too, where my work sells.
I am obsessed by my medium; I work along personal lines of creativity where it is usually the mistakes which turn out to be the best pieces. I am exceptionally slow at thinking and I am prone to be influenced by everything and everyone around me.I don’t own any of my own work except “My Little Pony”; a vase that didn’t sell in 2007 {archive pot no 1 below} and which later became too difficult to part with.
“Goodbye” said the fox. “Now here is my secret. It is very simple. It is only with one’s heart that one can see clearly. What is essential is invisible to the eye.”

Love the green on the moths - very beautiful... VV word dayinums!
That is positively mouth watering. Very fresh and lively.
That's one of my favourites of all your pieces - just lovely. It gives an impression of the images being 'sewn' onto fabric rather like applique.
