Hello there! All gone a bit quiet from your part of the world and I was checking in to see how you were. Probably you are frantically busy, things are like that here, but thinking of you and hope that you have a splendid and enjoyable Christmas.
Peter that is so nice of you to send me a note, I am fine here in Granada and working away unseen! I have three commissions to complete and one of them is fairly big and intense. The big cats of Africa! I am really enjoying doing this one. I also have a pot about Granada for some people who I met out here, this one is VERY difficult as they would like to see orange trees and I find orange a very hard colour to get right. I think I may have solved this now by depicting the trees in the dark; I am not sure yet which way to go with this one. Have a very happy Christmas down under. I will keep dropping by.
Yes, I was wondering about you… hoped everything is okay. I am hearing about the weather in Europe, it must be very cold to work with clay. It is only around 8 c hear and it is already too cold for me. Nevertheless spring is coming soon, and hopefully new creative spirit with it. Did I ever tell you how much I love your work? :-)
In the end I make pots. I live some of the time in a rural village just 28k south of the city of Granada where my studio is and if you read this blog you will soon discover that I spend a great deal of time in England too, where my work sells.
I am obsessed by my medium; I work along personal lines of creativity where it is usually the mistakes which turn out to be the best pieces. I am exceptionally slow at thinking and I am prone to be influenced by everything and everyone around me.I don’t own any of my own work except “My Little Pony”; a vase that didn’t sell in 2007 {archive pot no 1 below} and which later became too difficult to part with.
“Goodbye” said the fox. “Now here is my secret. It is very simple. It is only with one’s heart that one can see clearly. What is essential is invisible to the eye.”
