Because these were commissions I have had to keep the hidden. Both plates are with their new owners now so time to unveil them. Top one is big and only just went into the kiln. 50 cm's. The square one is tiny, about 18 cm's.
I have a crazy system of working; I split my life between the South of England and the South of Spain. My pottery is in a rural village south of the city of Granada where solitude, stone floors and the weather combine to help me create the pots. Commuting between the two countries works for me, I need to hook into the hustle and bustle of England, the bombarding of language and ideas and so it is here that I design and plan the work to bring back to my idyll.
I am obsessed by my medium; I work along personal lines of creativity where it is usually the mistakes which turn out to be the best pieces. I am exceptionally slow at thinking and I am prone to be influenced by everything and everyone around me.
